Community Comes Together for 2025 Gobble, Gobble, Run or Wobble 5k

More than 600 runners and walkers gathered in Old Town Warrenton the Saturday before Thanksgiving to celebrate Learning Starts Early's 11th annual Gobble, Gobble, Run or Wobble 5k. The skies were overcast but the mood was jubilant. LSE sponsors and race participants combined to raise $31,500 -- a new record -- to help Fauquier preschoolers prepare for kindergarten. See our Events page for a list of our 2025 sponsors.

The competitive 5k drew excited runners from 9 years old to 82; those who chose to walk took a more leisurely pace. The Kids Dash down Main Street, led by two teenagers in turkey costumes, was happily chaotic.

Owen Mullins, 18, from Warrenton, placed first overall with a time of 16:38. Second- and third-place finishers were also from Warrenton. Seventeen-year-old Elijah Savoie (last year's Gobble Gobble winner) finished second this year with a time of 17:06, and Vincent DeMarr, 15, came in third at 18:27.

For the women, Warrenton's Ashley McClain, 33, finished first with a time of 22:15; Taylor Bireley, 37, of Warrenton placed second with a time of 22:18, and Eloisa Gutierrez, 46, of Marshall finished third at 22:19.
