Fauquier Preschool Coalition
The Fauquier Preschool Coalition is a group of community members, educators, and parents dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young children in our Fauquier County. The Coalition is committed to working together to improve the quality of early childhood education in the county. Quality preschool education addresses the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of each child.


Head Start
From its inception, Learning Starts Early has supported the Fauquier County’s Head Start program. Fauquier Community Action Head Start is a federally funded preschool program for income-eligible children, ages 3 to 5 years old who reside in Fauquier County.
Fauquier County Public Schools – Virginia Preschool Initiative Program (VPI)
The Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI) is a preschool program for at-risk 4-year-olds. This program is free for eligible children who reside in Fauquier County. Eligibility is based on family income and child and family risk factors. There are four VPI classrooms within the county. Transportation is provided. The VPI program follows the same schedule as the elementary school in which it is located including weather-related closings. Current VPI classrooms are at Coleman, Pierce, Ritchie, Miller, and Brumfield.
