Virginia’s First Lady Pamela Northam recently celebrated Learning Starts Early and Saint James’ Episcopal Church and School for their support of the Books on the Bus (BOB) program. A new installation of a Story Walk by the PATH Foundation recognizes the original community partners that made BOB possible. PATH summer interns, including Saint James’ parishioner Tanner Working, created the Story Walk, together with Kristen McAuliffe, Fauquier FRESH Supervisor and member of the LSE Board. Fauquier FRESH (Fauquier Reaches for Excellence in School Health) is a Fauquier County Public Schools’ program funded by a grant from the PATH Foundation. FRESH’s mission is to inspire and promote healthy choices through better nutrition, movement and literacy. StoryWalk is a series of signs featuring an individual spread or page of a book (often a children’s picture book). The pages are spread through an indoor or outdoor space in sequence, allowing a reader to follow the story by walking.
