🎉🎈Celebrating 10 Years of Learning Starts Early by supporting us through Give Local Piedmont! This year, we're excited to celebrate a decade since the beginning of Learning Starts Early (LSE) and 7 years since its official launch! 🚀🌟
A decade ago, a dedicated committee at St. James' Episcopal Church took the first steps toward transforming our community. They discovered that 1 in 5 children in Fauquier County couldn't meet basic kindergarten readiness standards. With a vision to change this, they created the “Ready for Kindergarten and Beyond” outreach program, providing tuition assistance for families in need.
Fast forward to 2016, and we became Learning Starts Early (LSE), expanding our impact and launching our signature pre-Thanksgiving 5K race Gobble, Gobble, Run or Wobble 🏃♀️🏃♂️ in Warrenton. We've been able to support local programs like Warrenton Head Start, the Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI), and Books on the Bus (Now Fresh Reads!)!
In 2019, LSE became an official nonprofit corporation with 501(c)(3) status 💙💚. Today, our volunteer-driven board continues to work tirelessly to prepare every preschool child in Fauquier County for success in kindergarten and beyond.
